Description:
In 1991, Panzica Construction Company completed a senior living facility for independent living on The Village at St. Edward campus. Nearly 12 years later, our firm has been reengaged by The Village to provide complete pre-construction phase and construction phase management services for the expansion and renovation of the campus.
This project will begin with the construction of a new 100,000 s.f. nursing care facility to replace a soon-to-be demolished 1960’s era building. The new facility will consist of 100 private and semi-private nursing care suites. In addition, the project will include renovating 73 of the original 150 independent living suites into assistant living suites.
Philosophically, The Village at St. Edward will be transforming their entire campus into a holistic elder care community, one that is more reflective of senior living initiatives such as the Eden Alternative, among others. The design goal will be to create a more home-like, cluster-type environment giving the new community a residential atmosphere promoting and providing for security, safety, stimulation and high aesthetic levels in a socially enriched setting.
Many of the services and “back-of-house” activities will be altered to help complement the new feel of the facility.
As a construction manager with a vast amount of senior living experience and one that understands the cost implications of design elements incorporated into a facility reflective of trends such as the Eden Alternative, etc., Panzica will insure that these distinctive design elements are maintained without driving up the project budget.
